When Dr. Duane Schafer showed me his photos from an African safari, included were a series of a water buffalo eating. I decided it would be great fun to paint a series of three - the bite, the pull, and the chew. I added the birds to break up the pattern and to add more movement to the painting. I spent weeks composing the painting in my head, deciding on the canvas size, and then bringing the cranky beasts to life. Loved every minute of it!
Exciting update! "Field of Greens" won second place in the 2019 "Fin, Fur, and Feathers" show of Tampa Regional Artists!
